I studied UX Design at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where I followed key topics such as usability, accessibility, interaction design, and psychology.
My name is Christiaan Sanmoekmin 🇳🇱🇸🇷 23 years old, born and living The Hague. I am fully obsessed with making digital experiences that are delightful and memorable. My goal is to grow into a leader who inspires others through creativity and impact. At the same time, I’m drawn to development because it allows me to bring my ideas to life and shape them into something real.
My journey into design started with an interest into filmmaking, content creation and photography. I was fascinated by how visuals and storytelling evoke emotions. This interest in human behavior let me to getting accepted into the Psychology program at Erasmus University. Eventually I chose for UX because it was the perfect blend between psychology, human behavior, creativity and technology.
I have 4+ years of experience working with startups, academic teams, and on freelance projects. I've contributed to initiatives at organizations including Studio Tast, Shell, Kraaijvanger Architects, Municipality of The Hague, Athalos, OneWorldNetwork, and Fingro.
"Christiaan brings a distinct and authentic perspective to UX design, providing valuable insights into user flow and fostering innovation within the team. His contributions have positively influenced both the project and our collaborative environment."

I thrive when design meets strategy, I love untangling complex problems, aligning business goals with user needs, and bringing clarity through cross-functional collaboration. I design for impact, while also adding some knowledge from marketing and development.
I'm most energized when design gets strategic, aligning user needs with business goals and solving the right problems, not just designing pretty screens. I like cross-functional collaboration to bring clarity to complex processes
I'm hard to put into one bucket. My skills, interest and knowledge transcend the classic designer profile. Training my entrepreneurial mindset allowed me to look at whole systems, seeing the big-picture.
Alongside my design expertise, I have a solid understanding of front-end development. ensuring that my designs not only look great but are also functional and easy to implement.
Being a great designer isn’t about sitting in Figma all day, that’s just one small part. I’m here to solve real problems and help teams reach their goals. I think every designer should understand some code, and with tools like Cursor and, Lovable, there’s no excuse not to build quick functional prototypes. In my experience, testing with Figma can feel fake… Now we can actually bring ideas to life, fast.
Design is more than pretty pictures. It's a tool to drive decision making and shape products that are desirable and profitable.
It’s the micro-interactions, animations, and thoughtful touches that elevate a good experience to a memorable one.
Beautiful design means nothing if it doesn’t serve real user needs and problems. Listen first, design second.
Music uplifts my mood and increases my energy in and outside the gym. Podcasts and design leaders give me a source of inspiration.

I’m obsessed with learning how businesses grow. I’m always reading and strategizing. I’m also super into tech, especially AI and whatever’s new and next. That mindset helps me think beyond screens; I care about product-market fit just as much as crafting delightful UX. When I’m not behind a screen, you’ll probably find me in the gym, at a concert, traveling, or chasing good food and sports with friends.
